| Union Tool Exporters was founded by Mr.
Roman Chung and Mr. John Isaacs in 1969 as a trading company.
Through the 1970's the company was instrumental in leading and
developing the Taiwan wood and metal-working machinery business.
Most of the foremost machinery companies of the time as its
clientele. As business developed Mr. Tom Dose and Mr. Howard
Brewer were brought into the company as minority partners to help
manage and develop the business. In 1979, Mr. Roman Chung split
with his partners amicably because of the conflicting customer base.
Under Mr. Chung's direction, the company began developing
partnerships and interests in manufacturing. Also as the machinery
& hand tools market began to mature, Union Tool had begun
diversifying into hydraulics and pneumatic tools for the automotive
industry. In 1984, Mr. Chung began a long partnership with Mr. Joe
Moore who founded WMS in the U.K. This led to Union's diversifying
further into the production and trade of a wide product range of
builder's hardware. Today Union is the most quality oriented
non-Japanese manufacturer in Asia of builder's hardware. It's
customer base includes some of Europe's, North America's and Japan's
most "branded" hardware companies. |
